My illustrations
A still of a collection of short and simple animations. During the creative process I debated on keeping a limited universal colour palette or to give each small animation the proper colours. Ultimately I chose to animate with all the needed colours but I kept this illustration as a reference to what could have been.
The background of a walk cycle animation. I started with using Illustrator to plan out the line work and perspective. I then take the sketch to Clip Studio Paint to illustrate and colour before finally importing to toon boom harmony.
An isometric illustration made in Illustrator, I took inspiration off Penrose stairs. I took advantage of perspective to have layers that look like they’re higher connected to layers that are perceived as lower.
My animations
This is a short 2d animation where a tired pig enters a butcher shop. I animated this to practice doing walk cycles. The background was planned in illustrator to have a consistent perspective, then brought to Clip Studio Paint to illustrate.
I then animated the scene using toon boon harmony to have the pig and its clothes animated smoothly.
This is a collection of short animations using map icons. I planned each out on pen and paper, then made the background and moving assets in illustrator.
I then brought them to After Effects to animate them one by one before grouping them together. During the asset making process I experimented with the palette by limiting the colours used and implementing it to all of the shorts but decided that it was best to have them coloured appropriately so they won’t blend together and be easier to understand.
This is a short joke animation I made within a week. I used Illustrator for the background and door.
I animated using a combination of After Effects and Clip Studio Paint.
This is an animation using simple recognisable items to show this dot travelling back through different stages of a person’s life.
I used items such as a tie to represent adulthood and a propeller cap for childhood as clear objects that a majority could recognise and associate with a certain age demographic.
This is a short isometric animation I made using Illustrator and After Effects. I took inspiration off Penrose stairs and Monument Valley.
I used the clouds to play around with depth while the three layers in the main center mess with perspective with how they’re connected.
This is a short animation of a collection of items. I made them to experiment with creating different shapes using Maya. I then transferred them into Cinema 4D to animate.
I grew up like a lot of kids my age watching cartoons on the television. I didn’t have many friends growing up so in their place I watched cartoons and anime that were currently airing. Eventually I gained friends who also watched shows I tried to catch on air and were recommended shows to explore. During my early teens I also grew to love animations uploaded online from the likes of quick shorts, fan projects and storytime animations.
I took art in secondary school then graduated from college to hone my skills in marking art and animation.
